BRYAN/COLLEGE STATION -- William Cangelose has been appointed vice president at State Bank's College Station Banking Center, according to State Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Don Stricklin. In his new position, which is effective immediately, Mr. Cangelose will have responsibility for commercial loans.

Born and raised in Bryan, Mr. Cangelose holds a B.A. in Economics, as well as an MBA from Texas A&M University. He started his extensive financial career with Texas Commerce Bank in Houston as assistant vice president in the corporate loan department. He also served as senior vice president and manager of the commercial loan department in Tyler's InterFirst Bank before joining Shearson Lehman Brothers in Austin as a financial consultant and investment advisor. In 1988, Mr. Cangelose was named vice president of the metropolitan loan department at JPMorgan Chase Bank before moving to Dominion Consulting, a company providing business consulting for small and middle market companies in the Austin metropolitan area, as a principal.

"With his extensive experience in the financial community, our commercial customers are going to find that William understands their goals and challenges," Stricklin said.

In addition to his business activities, Mr. Cangelose is an active community supporter. In Austin, he served as a fundraising chair for the Leukemia Society and a volunteer with People for People, a consortium of businesses that support fund raising events for local charities. Mr. Cangelose also volunteered as a mentor for elementary students in the Austin Independent School District.

He and his wife, Nancy, have two children: Michael and Lisa.
