COLLEGE STATION - Beverly Ann Layne has been named Vice President, Small Business Administration (SBA) Lending at State Bank, President and Chief Executive Officer Don Stricklin announced today.

Born and raised in Houston, Beverly spent 28 years with the Small Business Administration Houston District Office, learning every phase of the Agency. She has in-depth experience in all aspects of servicing SBA loan portfolios, including management responsibilities. During her last five years with the agency, she worked in the finance division, reviewing loans submitted by participating lenders.

After taking advantage of an early retirement opportunity, Beverly joined Commerce National Bank in College Station to set up an SBA Department and attain SBA Preferred Lender Status, which was accomplished in less than a year. In her capacity as Senior Vice President, she had responsibility for marketing, as well as initiating, closing and servicing SBA loans. After Commerce National Bank was acquired by Compass Bank, Beverly became a Vice President for its SBA Preferred Lender Department, primarily serving the Bryan, College Station, Tomball, The Woodlands, Conroe, Kingwood and northwest Houston markets.

Beverly has held memberships in the Grimes County Chamber of Commerce, Commercial Real Estate Association of Montgomery County and the Brazos Valley Council of Governments Revolving Loan Fund Loan Committee.

Beverly and her husband, Lowell, reside in Navasota, and have a daughter, Tracey, a son, Clayton, and one granddaughter, Chelsea.
