![]() Chad Stary Named State Bank Regional President January 23, 2004 For Information Contact: GONZALES, TX. Chad D. Stary has been named regional president of State Bank, according to Don Stricklin, President and Chief Executive Officer. In his new position, Mr. Stary will have responsibility for State Bank's Gonzales and Flatonia banking centers, effective immediately. "Chad, who joined State Bank through the Central Texas Bank merger in 2002, is committed to every facet of outstanding customer service at the Gonzales and Flatonia banking centers. If you have not met Chad, I encourage you to drop by and introduce yourself ", Mr. Stricklin said. A native of Edna, Mr. Stary holds a BSBA in accounting from the University of Houston in Victoria. He also earned a commercial lending diploma from American Institute of Banking and attended Federal Reserve Banking Schools. His banking career began in Edna with Mid-Coast Savings and Loan before he joined First Victoria National Bank in Victoria. He also worked at The First National Bank of Beeville and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Mr. Stary spent several years with Norwest Bank, formerly Victoria Bank and Trust Co. in Victoria, before moving over to Wells Fargo, formerly Norwest Bank, in Gonzales. Upon joining Central Texas Bank as executive vice president in 2000, Mr. Stary had responsibility for the bank's day-to-day operations and served on the bank's executive loan committee. During his employment with State Bank, Mr. Stary served as Gonzales senior vice president and, later, was promoted to banking center president. "I am looking forward to having the opportunity to serve a larger rural market and I appreciate State Bank's commitment and focus on serving the needs of rural Texas." A committed community leader, Mr. Stary is a graduate of Leadership Victoria and United Way Industrial Division Chair, as well as a board member and a loaned executive. He was named loaned executive of the year by United Way. In Gonzales, he has served as captain of the former Texas Ranger Foundation Co. D Chapter for 40 counties in South Texas, Cen-Tex CDC Community Development Loan Committee Member, Sievers Medical Foundation Board Member, Gonzales Rotary Club Member, Fundraising Committee Member of the Guadalupe Valley Hospital Foundation in Seguin, chairman of the Lexington of Texas FNRA Committee and Chairman of the South Texas FNRA Funds Appropriations Committee. He is Past President and Vice President of the Gonzales Rotary Club and Gonzales Economic Development Corporation. The Stary's are members of the First Baptist Church of Gonzales. Mr. Stary's wife, Kimberly, is a History teacher at Gonzales High School. Their nine-year-old daughter, Melyn, is in the third grade.
